Fat in the duodenal lumen

Fat in the duodenal lumen:

A. Stimulates gall bladder contraction
B. Inhibits gall bladder contraction
C. Inhibits cholecystokinin secretion
D. Releases secretin
Answer is A. Stimulates gall bladder contraction.

When gat globules arrive in the duodenum, it triggers the release of cholecystokinin which in turn stimulates gall bladder contraction resulting in release of bile into the duodenum. This bile then helps in digestion of the fat globules.

Acid in the duodenum stimulates release of secretin and not fat.
